College(s):Coach Waranavage earned his Masters in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University in 1996.  He also earned his Bachelor's Degree from Muhlenberg College in 1993.  Coach Waranavage was selected as Muhlenberg's Scholar Athlete in 1992 and was also a captain of the 1992 Muhlenberg College football team.
Specialties:Coach Waranavage has two children, Katelyn and Jack, with his wife of 8 years Patricia.  Patricia is a 3rd grade teacher in the Southwestern School District.  His wife is a former field hockey coach at Southwestern and a graduate of West Chester University and Dallastown High School.
Awards:Coach Waranavage has received coach of the year honors three times in his career and his 2005 squad received the Sportsmanship Award.  He has also had three players earn the QB Club of York Scholarship.  He has had 4 player of the year recipients in his career as well.  Coach War has also had a YAFCA scholarship recipient.

Played football for South West from 4th grade through 12th grade. Graduated from SW in 2001. Joined the army national guard in 2000. Right after basic training, got sent to Peach Bottom Nuclear Power Plant to provide armed security. Was also sent to Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina. I'm a member of the 56th stryker brigade in the field artillery. Still currently serving, and will finish my military career in 2009. Coached the 2007 season at hanover high school as the offensive coordinator for the freshman team with a record of 5-2. the team averaged about 28 points a game.
